J’étais là à attendre
Que le temps passe
Avant de tout laisser
Dans les mains du vice
Et de la bonne volonté
Il y avait les statues
Qui me regardaient
Pour me faire peur
Ou m’encourager
Même dans la solitude
Les regards ne fuient pas
Ils percent l’âme
De bord en bord
Pour y boire
La mère des Muses
Et peut-être aussi
La vérité
Celle qui aveugle
Dans ma démence
C’est le feu du risque
Qui m’alimente
Jusqu’à la fin du gouffre
Et je sens l’épiderme
Se frémir contre l’impuissance
D’un désir qui tourmente
Qui flirte avec la folie
Ton corps ou le mien
Je ne sais plus
Ce qui m’appartient

Visual pleasure
03:12
|
|||
I woke up. You were not there. So I wondered. Where are you?
So I waited. Looked around. Still not there.
I miss you.
I closed my eyes. Thought of you. The pictures. It was all visual pleasure. It reminded me. Italy. When you drew me under the lemon tree.
I got tired. It was difficult. To miss you more and more. Did you leave me? Are you at the flower shop? I’m not getting out of bed. I’m busy. Waiting. For you to look at. For affection. For love.
It’s raining now.
I open the catalogue. I break my skull. I wanna get all of it. All the films behind my eyes. You’re still not there. I’ll wait some more.
I write some words now. They talk about you. Sometimes I laugh. When I think of Michael. Or when I think of, how clumsy I am.
Did you leave me? No you wouldn’t…
The rolls. The films. The souvenirs. The feelings. The absence. It tears me down. It tears me.
But it doesn’t hurt like that, you know?
I remembered this quote. “A painting is a collection of visual attractions”. How I paint you. Every night. And how we look at paintings together. I went back to the Nationalgalerie. I wanted to see. How it would make me feel. They were different without you. Like if they felt the absence too. Maybe we are both good at being alone. But I’ll wait for you some more. I can’t let go. In the bliss of the morning. The edge is there, but you cover the blade.

La satisfaction
03:00
|
|||
J’étais sur le point de dormir
Sur la pointe des pieds
J’ai vu des films qui parlaient de toi
J’ai vu la mer pour la première fois
Nous avions des cœurs et des yeux
Qui riaient aux larmes
Remplis
De rêves et d’adieux
Je pensais connaitre
La satisfaction
Avant toi
C’était beau d’y croire
C’était beau de te rêver
Sans savoir
Tous les mots qui volent
Les cerfs-volants en papier

Quitter Paris
04:32
|
|||
Il a fallu passer la porte
Pour commencer à pleurer
Je regardais les gens
Ils ne pleuraient pas
Ils ne savaient pas
Comment c’était
De le quitter
J’aimerais bien répéter, moi aussi
J’en avais marre de Paris
Les têtes vers le haut
Les voitures qui crient
Mais ce n’est pas vrai
J’ai détesté
Quitter Paris
J’ai déserté les rues
Pour hanter la gare
Essayer de tuer les mots
Qui me rappelaient ton visage
Combler le silence du déjeuner
Comprendre les voix silencieuses
Les visages des gens pressés
Qui me dévisagent
Ils ne comprennent pas
La tristesse
Et moi non plus
C’est l’absence, probablement
L’arrachement
Le déracinement
Le désir
Tes bras
Ta tête
Tes mains
L’au revoir
Ton sourire
Nos visages
Oui
Nos visages

Organized silence
04:27
|
|||
It’s morning and there is water on the grass. The wind hits the window. It wakes you up. You walk in the corridor. Senseless. And you remember. Today’s Tuesday. So you open the drawer looking for a book. Something to put in your hands. Something to think for your mind.
Outside. The cars are singing and the bicycles too. It makes you mad that people don’t appreciate. The singularity of each Tuesday morning’s song. You give your seat on the bus to an older lady. It felt right but you don’t really know what it means. You are going to be late for the meeting. But you’re the most affected by your lateness.
You go outside and smoke a cigarette on the porch. And it feels nice not to have empty hands. You wish the sun was burning skins but all you have is little puddles on the sidewalk. They reflect what you want them to. And it scares you to have the choice. Go back in. Take the stairs. You’re on time for the next meeting. You listen to the silence without knowing everybody else does the same. Today’s Tuesday. And its songs seem very interesting to you. Emptiness. Time to get back on the bus. Then you’re home drinking wine standing up. Your eyes are blurred. You need to remind yourself. Today’s Tuesday. Time to go to bed. Lay down. Mechanically. Find the space in between the nothingness. Turn off. Turn on. It doesn’t matter. You’re falling asleep. And you feel free. And pretend you know what it is. To be free.

Berlin ist schön
03:27
|
|||

Wundwasser
02:33
|
|||
Ich esse allein in der Küche
Und denke an alte Freunde
Wie geht es dir?
Wo wohnst du jetzt?
Kann man im Ritz noch tanzen?
Später
Komme ich wieder
Mein Herz
Irgendwo
Dazwischen
Es tut weh
Wenn ich mich zu Hause fühle
Ich gehe, ich gehe los
Wie das Wasser in meinem Körper
Wundwasser, sagt er
Es ist normal, sagt er
Meine Haut bringt Berlin mit
Ich vergesse immer
Wie das Leben ist
Oder sein soll
Ich kann nicht wissen
Wann und wo Soll ich bleiben
Er hat gewartet
Und ich auch
So bald, seine Lippen
Ein Flugzeug
Über meiner Welt

I looked at stars
I looked at signs
Some kind of light
So I could remember
Memories of memories
They change each time
It is not time or space
It is everything in between
You are a good reader
You climb the swallowed paths
You swam the other way
It was fear but trust
My legs stood still, waiting
For change that never came
Until the green made me blind
And the hug at the finish line

Fragen, träumen
02:53
|
|||
Ich frage mich manchmal
Warum hast du in meinen Armen geweint

L'aquarium
